Give your future something to look forward to.

Wills, trusts and legacy plans for families who would rather spend their energy on what comes next than worry about what might. Clear advice, plain English, and a plan built to fit your life.

Most families do not put off estate planning because they do not care. They put it off because it feels heavy, technical and final. It does not have to be any of those things.

Three things we hold to, on every plan we write.

  • Flat fees, agreed up front

You know the cost before we begin. No hourly surprises, no meter running while you think.

  • Plans you can explain at dinner

If you cannot describe your plan to your family in a few sentences, we have not finished.

  • Built to change with you

New homes, new grandchildren, new businesses. Your plan is reviewed as life moves on.

Everything a family needs to be ready, in one place.

Oakford Law focuses on estate planning and the work that follows it. That focus is why the plans hold up when they are needed.

  • Wills and revocable trusts

The core documents that decide who receives what, who is in charge, and how to keep your family out of court.

  • Powers of attorney and health care directives

The people you trust, named in advance, so decisions are made by someone who knows you if you cannot make them yourself.

  • Trust administration and probate

Steady, practical guidance for the family member left in charge, from the first week through the final distribution.

  • Asset protection

Structures that keep what you have built insulated from the claims and accidents that life sends without warning.

  • Business succession

A clear path for the company you built, whether it passes to family, to partners, or to a buyer on your terms.

  • Legacy and charitable planning

Ways to support the causes and people that matter to you, designed to work alongside the rest of your plan.

Three meetings. One plan you will actually understand.

Most plans are signed within a few weeks of the first conversation. The pace is set by you.

  1. A conversation, not a questionnaire

We start with your family, your property and what worries you. By the end of the first meeting you will know what you need, what you do not, and what it will cost.

  2. A plan designed around your answers

We draft the documents and walk you through them in plain language. You ask every question you have. We revise until it reads like your decisions, because it is.

  3. Signing, funding and a plan that stays current

We handle the signing, make sure your accounts and property actually follow the plan, and check in as life changes so it never quietly goes out of date.

Estate planning is all we do, and we do it as if it were our own family.

Oakford Law does one kind of work: helping families decide, in advance and on paper, who receives what, who is in charge, and how to keep the people they love out of court.

Our attorneys focus exclusively on estate planning and administration. We keep the language plain, the fees fixed, and the process calm. When a plan is finished, our clients tend to feel lighter, not older. That is the point.

Meet with an attorney

The things people ask before they call.

Do I need a trust, or is a will enough?

It depends on what you own, where you own it, and how much you want to keep your family out of court. A will alone still goes through probate. A revocable trust usually does not. The first meeting is where we work out which fits you, and we will tell you plainly if a simpler plan is the right one.

What happens if I do nothing?

Your state decides who inherits, a court decides who is in charge, and your family does the paperwork at the hardest possible time. Most of what we do is making sure those three things are decided by you, in advance, on paper.

How long does it take?

Most plans are signed within a few weeks of the first meeting. The pace is set by you. If there is a deadline, a trip, a surgery or a closing, tell us and we plan around it.

How do fees work?

Flat fees, quoted at the first meeting before any work begins. The fee covers the design, the documents, the signing and the guidance to fund the plan. There is no hourly billing for questions.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Nothing is required. If you have existing documents, a rough list of what you own, and the names of the people you are considering for roles, bring those. Most of the meeting is a conversation.

Start with a conversation.

Tell us a little about your family and what you would like to have in place. We will come back to you within one business day to set up a time to talk.
